Anonymous asks: I want to know more about your fibers work. It's clearly central to your photography-- What came first? What's the material? Why do you do it? Why do you use it as a wearable? What about its inclusion in your photography is important? I noticed you include actually fibers at you photo shows, but it looks like you also have fiber shows?

i’ve been doing this since mid 2010. it’s kind of a secret. i think i’m the only one doing this. i want to make sculptures of abstract lifeforms to use in my photography, and there’s a lot i can do with this process. it’s time-consuming and you can burn your hands. i’m working on a huge one that’s 5’ long so far. my intended vision requires a lot of elements that don’t exist in reality, so if i’m using photography to reach that i have to begin to create things like this. the fibres are just something i’m very comfortable with right now and i can use this process to make the shape of anything i can think of. i’m also starting to explore other processes, like this clay sculpture i’m holding: http://25.media.tumblr.com/56387c62411e3ebf9817c14d9cf00e9c/tumblr_mjbc5rj8dK1r9ywcmo1_500.jpg
